Professional history

Tomasz Ujejski was co-founder and a Director of the Tailwind Energy Group, an energy sector company based in the United Kingdom. Tailwind was founded by Tom together with a fellow graduate of the MBA programme at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. The Tailwind Group was sold in March of 2023 for USD 787 million.

Tom previously spent 16 years with the global law firm Baker & McKenzie, rising to Senior Partner, specialising in M&A and Capital Markets. He is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales, as well as in Canada. He holds LLM and MBA degrees from the University of Cambridge.

Tom is a member of the Advisory Board at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge and previously served as Chair of the Cambridge Judge Business School Alumni Council.

Since the sale of the Tailwind Energy Group, Tom has focused on supporting the startup community in Cambridge via his investment company, Nova Energia, as well as mentoring initiatives at the Business School.

Tom’s company has invested in various Cambridge-based startup companies including: Tagomics, focused on early-stage lung cancer detection, and Regulatory Genome Development (Reg-Genome), which is engaged in provision of AI assisted regulatory data. Tom serves as Co-chairman of RegGenome’s Advisory Board.

Tom is an Advisor and Trustee of Red Balloon Learner Centres.
