Professional history
Brooke Bornick’s professional experience spans the financial activities of businesses at every stage of growth, including startups, middle market, and public companies, and those in bankruptcy. She has served blue chip clients and startups as a lawyer, consultant, co-founder and investor.
Brooke earned her bachelor’s degree (dual majors in Political Science & Russian Language & Literature) and juris doctor degree at the University of Florida. She completed two public interest legal fellowships funded by the Florida Bar Foundation before going on to spend a decade representing banks and companies in financial litigation and insolvency matters.
She later earned her Executive MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School (Clare College 2016) and pivoted into tech and investments. She consulted for Impossible Foods, Pearson Publishing, Deutsche Bank and private family offices. Brooke served as VP of Investments & Portfolio Management for a boutique private equity firm, where she was honored by the Houston Business Journal for her work in finance. Brooke currently works at proptech company Lodgeur, which she co-founded with Sebastien Long (her husband and EMBA classmate). She is also co-founder of legal-tech startup IntelleXt, focused on AI-powered contracts.
Society & charity work
Brooke launched the Texas Chapter of CAMentrepreneurs and is actively involved with OxBridge Society Texas. She has served as a mentor, judge and speaker for MassChallenge, a global startup accelerator. She has also served 5 years on the board of the Houston on chapter of Amigos de las Americas, an international non-profit focused on youth leadership development. She served for 7 years as general counsel to Our Global Village, a Houston-based nonprofit.
