Professional history
Curlene is the Founder and CEO of The Good Tech Company, a boutique consultancy and advisory firm that works with startups, scale-ups and large organisations to implement ethical and responsible AI. She is an ethical AI expert that provides services to Finland-based Nordic Startup Ventures and UK-based Digital Responsibility Forum. Before founding The Good Tech Company, Curlene spent 18 years as a technology-focused management consultant in the US and UK. She was most recently an AI Evangelist focused on Strategy, AI Governance, Responsibility at the French unicorn Dataiku. Additionally, she was the Head of AI & ML Commercial Product at Digital Catapult, the UK government’s innovation agency for championing the adoption of advanced digital technologies.
Curlene spent 5 years at Accenture in Washington DC and London, where she led agile technology delivery and early stage innovation AI projects and programmes in North America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. Prior to Accenture, she was a founding member of the UK and Ireland Business Technology Strategy practice at Atos.
Curlene earned her undergraduate degree in Information Systems and Decision Sciences at Howard University, Washington DC. She is the former AI Council Co-Chair for the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA).
Society & charity work
Aligned to her ethical AI and tech for good ethos, Curlene is passionate about the impact technology has on children. She actively tutors children in digital literacy and skills and explores business models and incentives of companies that offer AI products to children.
