Professional history

Raaida is the Global Advocacy and Partnerships Manager for IAVE, the only international organisation with a primary aim to promote, strengthen and celebrate the development of volunteering globally.

She is also the Director of CLAVE, a forward-looking network of companies promoting corporate volunteering for the sustainable development of Latin America.

With a background in journalism and executive production, her career has been oriented to using the influence of storytelling to address social inequality. Raaida is the Founding Curator of the Barranquilla Hub of the Global Shapers Community, a network of exceptional young people created by the World Economic Forum. In January 2014, she was chosen as one of the 50 Shapers representing the voice of youth at the annual meeting of the Forum at Davos, being the first and only Colombian woman under 30 to ever participate in the event.

Raaida has led and developed a number of projects and initiatives in over 40 countries in all regions of the world, building strategic multi-sector partnerships and robust intercultural networks, and working with senior leaders, public figures, and the community at a grassroots level. Selected as a member of the Iberoamerican Leaders Program and the StartingBloc network, she co-founded socialBaq, an organisation fostering innovation processes through human-centred design methodologies. socialBaq is recognised as the first social enterprise in the city of Barranquilla in Colombia, and a unique model for the country’s Caribbean region.

Internationally speaking for global formats like TEDx, Creative Mornings and TVMorfosis, Raaida has served in the International Board of Directors for Partners of the Americas, a non-profit organisation connecting people, governments and organisations across borders, developing lasting solutions to the hemisphere’s toughest challenges. She serves in the group of International Chairs for Global Dignity, an initiative promoting a worldwide conversation about the importance of dignity as a basic human principle.

Society & charity work

Part of the first group of Co-ordinating Ambassadors at One Young World, she co-founded red2021, a campaign linking youth volunteering commitments. She also serves as one of the communications co-ordinators for the Wake Up Call, an activism movement that engaged 27,000 people from 84 countries in one day.
