News and insights
Each of our research centres has unique ways to engage with non-academic organisations and, through that, to generate real world impact. This month we decided to share with you the work of the Entrepreneurship Centre at Cambridge Judge Business School.
The expertise, programmes and initiatives of Cambridge Judge Business School were on display at a Virtual Experience Day on 15 October that showcased the School’s many facets.
Papers by faculty members Dr Jeremy Hutchison-Krupat and Professor Stelios Kavadias and PhD candidate Antoine Feylessoufi are honoured by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).

Coronavirus: can online learning rise to the challenge?
Coronavirus pandemic forced business schools around the world to switch to online teaching quickly. But will this trend continue in the future? “There will be some return to previous practice, but this forced experiment will have a lasting effect,” says Jeremy Hutchison-Krupat, University Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Operations Management at Cambridge Judge Business School. “There is a realisation that online learning can be enjoyable, convenient and engaging. That doesn’t change when the coronavirus crisis passes.”
Mark Andrews, Digital Learning Programme Manager, said: “This situation has brought with it creativity in delivery design. It will have a lasting impact on the way we operate and think about delivery.”

MSc programmes in entrepreneurship: a path to startup success?
Business schools are not only for consultants or bankers but also for people wanting to launch their own business, writes Seb Murray in Master in Management Guide. This could be a safe environment to test a business idea, according to Dr Jeremy Hutchison-Krupat, Co-Director of the Entrepreneurship Centre at Cambridge Judge. For example, on the MSt in Entrepreneurship programme students can attend events like pitching sessions as well as get a mentor based on their needs. This creates “an environment that facilitates the formation of a strong community of entrepreneurs,” says Jeremy.
