Gaza special report cover.

The role of world universities at times of war and crisis

By Jebril, M. (2024)

This policy brief explores the different ways that universities can respond to the crisis in the Gaza Strip, putting forward some strategic and actionable recommendations for world universities to consider for implementation. The author previously worked as a teacher in Gaza’s public schools and as a lecturer at 2 of Gaza’s universities, as well as in other roles in the Gaza education and HE sectors; she benefits from these experiences to put forward ideas that are agile and which could be adaptable to universities’ various departments and actors.

By Connell, D. and Reddy, B. (2024)

It has become increasingly clear that the key challenge for UK industrial and innovation policy is the early acquisitions of our most promising new R&D based companies by overseas-based corporations and private equity, and the truncation of subsequent growth in the UK.
