Alumni Council

The Alumni Council supports the Alumni Relations team in managing the alumni network, by ensuring that all services, resources and benefits meet the needs of the membership.

The Council is made up of alumni from the international community and represent a range of programmes across Cambridge Judge Business School. They are self-nominated and then elected by existing Council Members as well as staff representatives. The Council convenes four times a year, with meetings supplemented with regular online and telephone communication. Applications to the Nominations Committee take place biannually.

Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) established a high-level Alumni Council to support the CJBS Alumni Relations team which is part of the Alumni & External Engagement Team.

The Alumni Relations team is the main liaison with the global CJBS alumni community, which is made up of CJBS graduates, Executive Education participants of qualifying programmes. The purpose of the Alumni Council is to serve as an important link between the Business School and key global alumni networks; provide input and support for potential strategies and activities within the Alumni & External Engagement Team, as well as to support engagement and to enhance the Business School’s reputation and brand image.

To achieve this purpose, Alumni Council members are encouraged to:

  • host and participate in special events to raise the profile of CJBS in key strategic groups.
  • provide input and advice on specific External Engagement programmes, including alumni relations, corporate outreach, fundraising and stewardship.
  • support the Dean, faculty and staff of CJBS, as needed and practicable.
  • assist in recruitment of additional volunteers to create and run special interest and geographical alumni groups.
  • assist with fundraising and identifying corporate or individual opportunities on behalf of the Business School.
  • contribute to good relations with the Colleges and the University of Cambridge.
  • support student projects, recruitment, mentoring and development of Executive Education, as possible.
  • set a leadership example for other alumni by supporting the Business School through an individual or corporate gift.
  • raise the profile of the Business School through your unique network of professional and personal contacts.
  • participate in efforts to spread the word about CJBS research, progress and achievements through any relevant communication channels available to you in your specific networks, including social media channels.
