Eilis’s research at Cambridge Judge Business School focuses on the Critical Thinking Skills Project, which aims to equip children with the tools to navigate misinformation and disinformation online. She designs and tests age-appropriate learning resources. By exploring participatory methods, she examines how children can learn to question information, assess evidence, and build resilience against fake news, supporting safer and more critical digital engagement.

Jan Metzger

Jan has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry and currently serves as Global Head of Coverage Banking at Standard Chartered. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he spent over a decade in senior leadership roles at Citi, including serving as Asia Pacific Head of Corporate and Investment Banking and previously as Global Co-Head of Technology Investment Banking. Jan began his career as a software engineer, specialising in artificial intelligence and voice recognition technologies. In his current role, he advises multinational corporations, financial institutions and governments on strategic advisory, financing and growth initiatives. He is also a trusted advisor to boards of directors and CEOs, helping organisations harness artificial intelligence and knowledge management capabilities to remain competitive and accelerate digital transformation.

Jan’s passion for entrepreneurship and innovation stems from his early career experience as Chief Technology Officer of a voice recognition startup. He is an active supporter of the innovation ecosystem, sponsoring scholarships in artificial intelligence and partnering with universities and organisations worldwide to develop entrepreneurship programmes, competitions and training initiatives for emerging founders.

Jan is also the author of Source Code Sunday, a publication that explores and analyses emerging disruptive technologies and their impact on business and society. Jan has a bachelor’s degree with a double major in both economics and computer science from the University of Sussex. He also holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge.
